It’s morning again, and your bed is so cozy and warm, but there’s that incessant beeping going on in the background. Ugh, it’s your alarm clock telling you that it’s time to get out of bed. There’s a little problem though; everything outside of the bed is freezing! It’s difficult getting up in the morning, especially when you know that the minute you get up, your body is going to lose that warm, cozy feeling. These tips will help you make your next morning getting of bed a bit easier.
Set a pleasant alarm. Your annoying beeping alarm doesn’t make waking up any easier, it just puts you in a grumpy mood. Start your day off with the sound of bells or a calming song. Bump up the volume if you’re a deep sleeper!
Program your coffee machine! Another thing to preset the night before, this will only make getting up that much easier. You won’t have to wander downstairs and set the machine on, then stand there demanding it give you coffee now. Instead, you’ll be awoken and lured to the smell of coffee already prepared for you.
Set a timer on your central heating. The reason it’s so hard to get out of bed in the morning is because everything outside your bed is just so cold! The floor, the bathroom and even the air. The night before, set your central heating to come on before you have to wake up. That way, everything is already warm and you have no excuse to get out of bed.
Shower as soon as you get out of bed. Jump out of your bed and race to the shower. If that quick little sprint didn’t warm you up, then a hot shower sure will. Use a body scrub and moisturizing oil next time. The scrub will take off all the rough skin caused by the cold air, and then warmth and moisture will be sealed in by the oil. Or if you’re more worried about waking up, use a minty body wash to awaken your senses and make you feel refreshed!
Get something warm to eat. Nothing is worse than having a cold breakfast on an equally cold day. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, preparing you for what’s to come and giving you energy. Make sure your pantry is stocked with oatmeal, porridge or cream of wheat. All of these delicious options you can make either on the stove or microwave in case you’re in a rush.
