There is no way of knowing for sure how or what happened to him, but we can only guess Boss ran away on New Years Eve, afraid of the fireworks and he ended up on the road, lost and desperately trying to find his way home.
A tiny dog, scared and lost avoid the speeding traffic.
The impact was brutal….
People saw him getting hit and flying to the curb, where he remained unable to move, convulsing.
Boss has been taken immediately to our hospital and he has arrived in a state of shock, close to a coma.
He has craneal trauma as well as a massive impact to the thoracic box that has led to pneumothorax (air entering the chest and compressing the heart).
He has internal bleeding and the pupils show no response.
We have had to puncture his chest in order to drain the air that compresses the heart.
We´ve drained 820 ml in three different procedures. A massive amount for a dog of his size. In this picture you can see the difference before and after draining the air…
We have working really hard to stabilise him while keeping a constant eye on his vital constants and his intracraneal pressure. The next 48 hours are going to be critical!!!
PLEASE WATCH BOSS VIDEO TO SEE THE EXTENT OF THE DAMAGE HE IS SUFFERING…
THIS IS AN EMERGENCY… THE NEXT 48 HOURS ARE GOING TO BE CRITICAL!!!
After his treatment is over, BOSS is going to need an amazing home, a home that will love him and cherish him forever.
