Prosthetics are not just for humans; not anymore. Prosthetic limbs for humans usually involve strapping a limb on, but that doesn’t usually work for animals. However, a new generation of veterinarians could have figured out a new way to imbed implants, to give animals a new chance at life. Vincent the cat was left at an animal shelter in Iowa, probably because of malformed back legs.
Vincent was missing both of his legs below the knee, and though he could hobble around as a kitten, rescue workers knew he would have problems later in life. Lucky for Vincent, he met an amazing woman who fell in love at first sight and adopted him immediately. She contacted a vet to see what could be done to help the poor cat, and the rest is history.

There are fewer than 25 pets that have had this space-age surgery, though hopefully it will become a viable option soon! Share away, people!
