A giant blind dog crying in a kill shelter cage… That´s what they sent me, accompanied by this picture… a picture telling us a story we never get used to.
A giant dog, kind, humble, polite…. scared of the unknown.
Samson misses his family and cries, but his family doesn´t cry for him. His family just sentenced him to die.
The moment I saw his picture I promised him he wouldn´t die in that place… a few calls later and the help of our incredible team and Samson arrives to our hospital. As they told me, he is a giant, a kind gentle king of dogs that stumbles with every step he takes.
We have run a full test, we´ve searched for the obvious things and for the not so obvious ones. Samson has bad arthritis, normal in a dog of his age, old age sucks, but that´s ok… but the problem it´s in his eyes… two bilateral growths covering the cornea, making him in effect blind.
We have the chance to stop Samson´s fears, to stop him from shaking like a leaf…. We can give him back his sight!!! and then… and then we can find him the most amazing family... a family that will take care of his weary bones until the day he dies, grateful, in a bed, like every dog should.
